An introductory session held on Friday evening allowed for preparation and information for the girls around activities arranged for the following day.
Areas covered were Women’s health related – Lifestyle, sexual health including contraception and STI’s. Jackie covered the area of domestic violence and sexual safety.
Although time was short it was apparent to us that a number of girls gained a better understanding in areas of health they were unsure of. To some, it was a reminder or update of things they had already learnt. The use of Powerpoint presentations and games and activities reinforcing messages presented was successful. In all, it was a pleasure to be able to interact with this age group of girls in a safe and comfortable setting.
